This is a report from a local bait shop on Geneva. 3/6/07

With the gamefish season finally closed it is now time to get sick with CRAPPIE FEVER!! Here are a few locations to help you catch some. Look for them in pothole like depressions usually between 25-40ft deep. Also try any remaining standing weeds you can find in 11-15ft. Last place to try will be submerged structure like deep pier foundations. They can be there one day and not the next and vice versa, so don't hesitate to return to unproductive spots and refish them. I try to always fish with two holes one presenting live bait such as minnows or a waxworm, and the other a plastic tail. So far its been about 50/50 for me. The sun up and sunset have been better producers in the deeper water and mid day for the shallower weed bite. Good luck and hopefully we'll have ice for yet another few weeks. PS laker fishing is best in March and the season is open for them here if you need a large game fish fix.
