Need a new flasher, getting intoncrappies now, want good seperation, and water colum zoom, what do u guys suggest.

I've got the entry level Marcum, don't recall the model # now, & that's what I use most on the ice. It does cause interference problems with the Lowrance Elite 5 Ice Machine which we adapted to use on the bow of the boat too. That's mostly used for the GPS on the ice now, as it has a good chip in it. So last season we got a reconditioned older model Vex that I've not used very much yet.

Sure liked my dual-beam, Showdown. I don't like all the flickering colors on a circular graph; preferred the vertical real-time vertical column. Everyone poked fun at that, but it worked for me.

We have a Marcum LX5 and Marcum LX6. Good units. The LX6 is the same as the LX7, just smaller screen.

Not to hijack Boar's thread but as I mentioned in the "Good Morning" thread we're putting a new unit on our boat. Had to as the old 1, 10 years old, quit workin because we had critter issues. Pretty sure it was a mink that was hanging around our dock a good share of last season & he chewed off the wires right at the transducer.

So I was wonderin, what most of you have on your boats? We went with the Lowrance HDS 7

I have a Vexilar FL-20 and I love it. 6' and 12' zoom and very good target separation. I'm not sure what the newer models do.

Thanks JB, they're changing that model a little so we got it on closeout. Still a bit spendy but we thought we needed to upgrade & the last unit was a 5". Yeah mike, I know muskrats will do that as well but I got a couple good looks at it & the tail wasn't right for a rat. Too much fur, a bit on the small side too.

talked to my cusin in minot, he works for scheels every year he sells off last seasons flx28 and buys a new one for the warenty. he sold me his flx28 that's seen ice 5 times for 400bucks. BOOYAA!

Pretty sure those 80 hour weeks he puts in every Spring & Fall help it grow fast. Bet it lasts longer with his other 1/2 holdin the checkbook most of the time though.
