 ......Field of moose dreams :doah:

Minnesota Conservation Officer Jimmy Van Asch had an unusual call June 10 with reports of a moose trapped in a baseball field in tiny Swatara in northern Aitkin County.

Sure enough, when Van Asch arrived, the young moose appeared unable to get out of the fenced-in field.

β€œIt looked like he squeezed through between the fence and the dugout, then couldn't remember how he got in,’’ Van Asch told the News Tribune.

Van Asch opened a large gate in the outfield and shooed-away gawking onlookers watching  from their vehicles. The moose eventually left the field when the cars went away.

While most Minnesota moose are found in Cook, Lake and far northern St. Louis counties, Van Asch said there is a stable, remnant population of moose in the swamps of northern Aitkin County.
