Aren't these knobs scared of going thru the ice, or are they that stoopid that they think it isn't going to happen to them?! I'm always checking when I drill a hole...my slush scoop is an extendable black tube aluminum one, that I've marked off in white paint every 3" up to 3', and I check every time I drill a hole. Ice varies a LOT due to current, etc....but then, WE know that!  :bonk:

I was from Mankato and those to me soft water lakes for a long time!!!  survival of the fittest might be involved there!!!  hope no one was hurt....

Pretty much I bet. Cant say for sure on the Croix, but some of the shallow lakes around here where the carp school can widdle ice down and you wont know it til it's too late.
