I'll be making one last run to Oakdale Gun Club for a little bit more range work before the opener. Dragging out my 99 chambered for .243, and the AR for a little range work.  I'd really like to hunt with that AR sometime, but my 99 and my dad's Mauser would really be jealous. If by chance any of our members are headed out there tomorrow around 10:30, if you see the handsome guy sitting there with some really sweet guns, well, that's certainly not me!  I'll be the fat ugly fart down at the end!  Stop by and say 'hi."  I've always got enough coffee to share.

Back 20 years ago I lived in Stillwater.  A couple of friends and I would go to the Oakdale Gun Club and shoot clay pigeons.  Was a great time.

Fired the rifles a couple weeks ago during the youth season.  Everything was good.  My grandson used his dads Browning X-bolt to shoot his doe.  I guess now he wants one as well.

Why wouldn't he?     He probably thinks its a magic gun.

I remember when my dad let me shoot a round of trap with his Browning Citori.  It was the best round I ever shot.

He didn't care much for the gun so he sold it.

I was miffed cause he didn't save it for sonny-boy.   :doah:

However, with stuff like that (and other things), Father usually knew best.

I ended up going in the afternoon.  I was surprised there weren't more guys out there.  I'm sure they'll be hoppin' this weekend.  'Shot in a 99 chambered for .243 I'd picked up last year.  She's a shooter- 3/4" groups off the bench at 100 yards with Remington Green Box 100  gr. Core Lokt's.
