Last ice fishing trip of the year.

Practice social distancing. Went to my grocery store on Mille Lacs. Went out of North Garrison access. Needed 5 foot planks to get across the crack and then it was smooth sailing. We caught 19 tullibee in the first 45 minutes. 7 doubles. Fished for the next two and a half hours and caught 60 more until we kept our final fish. It started to rain so we headed home. Ice was a little bit softer on our way back in. The best bait was a gold kastmaster with a 3-foot dropper to an orange forage fry. 32 FOW .  When the fish saw the spoon the would chase it as we reeled the bait up.  We had to  ri g the bait up as fast as we could reel some times just to get the orange forage fry tipped with beavertail up passed the fish so they would see it and bite the hook.  A few would follow up all the way up to 5 feet  below the ice.

The key is to have a swivel on the top and the bottom of the spoon.  Stops line twist and keeps the bait from spinning as well
