How do you rebuild a Polaris clutch ?
It's off a 04 sportsman 500 HO 4x4 ..
On a quite nite up north you can almost here the deer laughing

 To really do it right, you need the right tools to take that clutch apart.

 You can replace the weights, pins, bushings and spring by taking the outter clutch cover off, but it is under a spring load and should be taken off with EXTREME! cation and it can be tuff to compress the clutch spring to get the cover bolts back in.

 If in dought, take it to a qualified mechanic

if i take it to a qualified mechanic what kinda of a cost am i looking at to do a total rebuild ?

 Lets just say..anymore than $300.00 and you can buy a new Comet clutch for a little more...New is good!

 how many miles you have on the rig?

about 4400 miles i'd like to get get it rebuilt .just for a back up..but i don't have too found 1 on ebay for $150.00..

Just be sure your not buying the same thing you got...all wore out

Hey Iceman i have the tools to rebuild that clutch, let me know if you ever want to do it
i borrowed them to a buddy and would have to round them up, but it would be a good reason to get the tools back !!
