Open water within 2 weeks?  Sounds like it will happen.  Crappies in 2-3 weeks.  Sweet!

My boy and i went down to Lake Kohlmeier here in owatonna again today to try some crappie fishing. Nothing biting but there is only a very small area, maybe 75 sq ft, that has any ice left right now and it is only a thin covering at the top of the lake. Its all drifting to one side and crashing into the fishing dock and breaking up today. Its 74 here right now according to the van.

I've had my thoughts about going out this weekend, but it sounds like it's going to be just a bit too cold.

No worse than a day out on the ice on a bucket.  For some reason, 30 in a boat seems way colder than 30 on a bucket.
