I watched a video on a website where they were promoting a certain auger and they were seeing which auger drilled the holes faster. Now I watched the whole video and as I watched it I noticed that both augers drilled holes perfectly as any auger would. As a consumer would you buy an auger based on the fact that it won a hole drilling race?? I am not much of an ice fisherman but when I do go I use an auger that my dad bought about 15 years ago. The thing works great! I think the last time I was out I drilled about 25 holes. Now I imagine if you wanted to race there are many augers that would beat me but is that really my concern?? Just wanted to see what you thought?

I think I know the video you are talking about. If its the one I think it is, I was about 20 yds behind the camera man when it was filmed. (Sorry, I wasn't a member here yet and was at their fishing outing)

I think with a tune up and new blades my jiffy would drill just about as fast as that turqoise auger. I even told them so, but they gotta support their sponsors.

Did you see how the other auger (the one that lost) WAS BEING LEANED ON...  Any auger that is "foced" to cut will cut slower...  Let the auger do the work.

i am not so concerned about drilling that 10th hole before the next, i just want the reliabilty of when i get to the lake, it will start, and punch my holes. if its the same auger im thinking, for $150.00 less i can buy alot of gas. and thats alot of holes!

My auger isn't the best but it isn't the worst. It's fast enough... but you guys just prompted me to tinker a bit... ohh ooh oooh! If you hear an explosion... duck and pray! ~ Greg
