I think it's one of those evenings. Just me and my old buddy Jim Beam. Watch some videos on rabbit, squirrel and pheasant hunting. Next couple of days, nowhere to go, nothing urgent. Great being retired.
I used to be cute and adorable. Then, I had my first birthday. Been downhill ever since.

Glad you are enjoying retirement. I've been retired 15 months and am bored out of my mind.

Last day of work was 11/18/11 so it's been 10 years for me. Never had a problem adjusting. :happy1:

In a few months I'll be 67 but I still plan on working full time until I'm 70. I got a glimpse of what retirement will be like after a recent surgery and 6 weeks off work. As soon as I felt good enough, I kept busy organizing and cleaning things in my shop. I also cut some smaller dead elms up for firewood and did some yard work. I really enjoyed the time off but I did miss several of the people I work with. I think I'll be ready when the time comes.

Agreed. So much stuff has been back-burnered at the ranch so I can do everybody else's projects. I can't wait to tell them "no" to focus on what needs to be done. Give me time, gas for my skidsteer, tractor and chainsaw and we'll raise some hell. When can I make it work comfortably is the question. Needs to happen sooner than later.

I'm sure you are markn. From your posts it looks like you have plenty to keep you occupied. I can hardly believe it's been 13 years for me. I'm far from running out of things to do. I encourage all to plan for it and do it early.

Fortunately, my hobbies are cheap. I also had most of my hobby supplies before I retired. I have a friend who's hobby is restoring old cars. He recently bought a 71 (I think) Camero for $8,000 and had to drive 400 miles to go pick it up. He has to put another $4,000 in to it. Too rich for my blood.

Good for you guyz that have it figured out....I  tried being retired summer of 2020 when I was deemed "non-essential" for 3 months, living on my SS wasn't working, 401k went to health issues, tried picking up anything part time to supplement my SS income, kinda hurts a guyz feeling when you reach a certain age and no longer needed in the work force,my issue is my mind thinks I'm 30 years old still when I attempt anything phyiscal, then my body reminds me..." whoa! NO don't do that"

Upside, house in the metro is paid for,my retirement place in sodak is coming along and will be permanent once my dad passes on which could be any day now, then I'll sell my Mn house ,it'll be a good feeling to rebuild the ole nest egg selling the house.

The 1st 3 years of mine was when we rebuilt from seasonal to year around at the lake & since then all I want to do is spend as much time as I can up there. Thought a few times about doin something I liked part time if I got bored but it hasn't happened yet as there's always something to do up there.
