Thank you.  :happy1:

On this day in history, June 6, 1944, US and Allies invade Normandy in greatest military invasion

The historic invasion force that landed on D-Day included 7,000 ships and landing craft manned by over 195,000 naval personnel from eight Allied countries and almost 133,000 troops from the United States, the British Commonwealth and Allies.

I checked the interwebs and the National D-Day Memorial website estimated that fewer than 3,000 veterans of D-Day were still living in 2021.

 :ustroops:

P.S.  Next year it will be 80 years since.

I used to be cute and adorable. Then, I had my first birthday. Been downhill ever since.

Makes me wonder if this is being mentioned in public schools today. Could this possibly "offend" someone? Am I a jerk if I don't care if it offends someone?

I didn't realize until recently that D-Day being the "Longest Day" was an Erwin Rommel quote...

P.S.  He wasn't wrong.   ;)
