Christen and Bob Brown from Racine Joined me today for their annual smallmouth adventure on Geneva and they weren't disappointed. The weather was awesome and so was the fishing. What a pleasure it is two fish this team. I did have a hard time trying to explain to them why the Bears were better than the Packers, but it was fun trying.
Along with the fast smallie action, Christen managed to bag her first ever northern. Immediately after the release she promptly got on the cell and reported her triumph to her co-workers.

We wound up with a total of 14 legal + smallies and 27 more under 14 inches. The best depths were 28' to 36'. We fished from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm. The bite did seem to slow down from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The ratio of smaller bass verses larger today is not uncommon at this time of the year, but will soon change as temps cool down. Today's water temp was 75 degrees and it was 77 two days ago.

See ya on the water,

Lee

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
