Saturday 9/15/07 Report.
Today I had 2 members of the Lake Geneva Fishing Club aboard John aka (Shrek) and his partner Dave. The morning air today was brisk to say the least, but we were bundled. Started out in the dark trolling for pike for about 25 min and when the daylight broke thru it was back to plan A (Smallmouths).

The #1 smallmouth hot spot was hot NOT! After straining the water for 40 minutes a few smallies began to slip into the area followed by a few more smallies. Some of the smallmouth are starting to move up shallower while many others remain in the deeper water along the steep breaks. The wind direction switched several times during the day and the fishing was best with the S/W breeze.

We wound up with 22 smallmouth and that's less than 1/2 of yesterdays total. Well, that's fishin for ya! Dave hooked into a nice fish and called for the net, but I was in the midst of filling the lemonade pitcher so John had to net it for him. It wound up to be a decent pike that hit his crawler.

See ya on the water,

Lee

An old man in his final breaths called in his family and said, I must apologize to you all. I suppose I haven't been the perfect father and husband. I shamefully admit that I spent as much of my life as I could on the water. I was rarely at home during the fishing seasons and I'll admit that I spent too much time at the tackle shop, and too much money on rods and lines and reels.

He paused here to rest for a minute, then continued, I've been a terrible father and I hope you all forgive me. Then he paused again and looked around. Then he closed his eyes and smiled and said in a half whisper to himself, but on the other hand....I have caught a helluva lot of fish.
