ALEXANDRIA ? Christopherson?s Bait & Tackle, Dana Freese, 2 blocks east of Big Ole, (320-763-3255) Crappies and sunfish are still biting in 2 to 3 feet of water on plastic jigs, tipped with waxworms, the best bite has been in the morning or evening hours. The water is clearing up now making the daytime bite a little tougher. This weekend?s opener should produce walleyes in 8-15 feet of water on most of the smaller lakes in the area, Lake Reno and Mary are two places to try, the best baits are typically a jig and minnow, leeches, fatheads or shiners.
