Friday 9/28 report:

Today I entertained Steve Smorkol and his client Bruce. This time of the year I always like to do some early morning trolling in search of those toothy critters and today was no exception. We run only two rods and they are hand held by the clients so they can feel the full impact of a strike. We picked up one largemouth early. After our 3rd pass we nailed two pike with the best one at 30 inches.

I always let the clients make the decision as to if the want to continue trolling or switch to plan B. Steve choose to make another pass in hopes of getting that one big pike. It didn't take long and Bruce ( The almighty) felt his 30 lb test Power Pro ripping off his reel. He wound up with a nice 37 inch slimer that gave him a great fight.

We next went seeking out Uncle Smallie for some fun and games and sure weren't disappointed when we arrived in his neighborhood. We offered them crawlers and they honored our offer. Lots of fun for my guys with an increase in the average size today. Best depth was 25 to 35 ft.

see ya on the water,

Lee

Only when the last tree has been felled, the last river poisoned and the last fish caught, man will know, that he cannot eat money.
