bad mouse
Can someone answer this?  :help:

I have a laser mouse on my computer and the scrolling wheel on it won't work. It just happened tonight for the first time and is now useless. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Do I dare take it apart since everything I touch turns to crap? Is this an unusual problem or do they just wear out in time. Any suggestions other than buy a new one.

I have numerous times had to clean my Mac mouse. It's amazing how much crap can build up. Now those typically had a ball in them so is probably different from a LAZER mouse.

I typically used alcohol and a Q-tip. Seems to me you have nothing to lose.
