12-27-07  4 wheelers and snowmobiles are all over  the lake now, still shying away from larger vehicles.  Crappies are sitting down in the 32-35 foot waters, hungry.  After a bunch of 8 inchers, you will be rewarded with  a couple of very nice sized flopping filets! There have been schools of small crappie up about 10 feet from the bottom, but the larger fish are down about 1 foot off.  Waxies and crappie minnows seem to be equally as attractive.  Walleye have backed off the feeding frenzy, and are sitting about 18 feet down on structure.  They are becoming more finicky, but the best success seems to be with a beetle spins.  Northern, spreading out from the bays more, some nice 30 inchers coming in from the shallower waters leading out to Cigar, and the northern bays yet.  Lots of slush after yesterday, be ready for wet!  Ice ranging from 8-11 inches under the slush
