Good action for northern, crappie and bluegills in the Rice Lake,
Wisconsin area.

With the ice firming up, anglers are starting to move out to deeper water
and meeting with success.

Crappie are biting well in the Rice Lake area. Fish 12 to 25 feet of water,
off of cribs or structure. Use a crappie minnow or a small flutter-type jig
tipped with a waxie. The crappie will be at different depths on the water
column.

The northern action in the Rice Lake area is good. Fish in about 12 feet
of water off of the weeds. It's mainly a daylight bite. Use a tip-up with
a shiner.

Bluegills in the Rice Lake area are biting in and around the weeds. Fish 10
feet of water or less, and use a waxie or a spike.

Walleye anglers in the Rice Lake area are moving to humps, weed and
breakedges in depths from 8 to 20 feet. Fish late afternoon into evening.
Use a tip-up with a walleye sucker minnow.
