Tree Camera for Christmas

I got a tree camera for christmas...anyone have advice?  Do the deer get spooked at the flash?  Should I put it right where I think I want to put my stand or further away?  Any advice would  be greatly appreciated.  Thanks,

put it on trails that are used i would not say they spoke the deer at all. i have also put them on  the same tree as my stand with no problems... be sure to post pics of the big ones....

set the camera up so it is shooting down the trail and not accross it. if the shutter speed is a little slow it may miss a lot of deer if pointed streight accross the trail.

if you do that you may get a lot of these  if you put a simple stick across the trail, or just some fox pee or doe pee coon pee your pee something to make them stops for a sec infront of your camera they will stop long enofe for a picture.

put it on a heavly usred trail or you can also feed the deer spread some corn out or etc. that gets them to stop long enough for a good picture and point it down the trail..and make sure its at the right height on the tree....good luck. hope you find the big one
