I would like to see what most of you do for the opener.

Do you go fishing with your buddies for a guy's weekend kinda deal or do you go with your family, girlfriend, wife, etc?

I go up to Mille Lacs with my husband every year.  My brothers also go.  Years ago before we had kids, I use go up with a bunch of my girlfriends and pretty much party all weekend...not much fishing went on.   But as time went by and everyone starting having kids that kinda weened out.  I know a lot guy's still consider it a "guy's weekend" has that changed for you as you've gotten older too or do you still do the same tradition?  I do enjoy going up with my husband each year, we have so much fun, but...don't get me wrong, I still think about the good ol' days....

What's your opener tradition?

For many years in a row, I fished Mille lacs, the wife never made it one time, so i brought the girlfriend most of the time.  ;)  :oops1: We ended up divorcing in 2006, the same time i stopped going to Mille lacs.

I think i fished Mille lacs 12 years in a row and never missed, now for the past 2 years I've been winging it and looking for a new tradition. Last year I fished Leech lake with Leech Angler, but he has to be in San Diego this opener for a graduation.
