Well i think its important..  You can jot down as you go...

This way i can give great reports here too

And also in 10 years  can look back and have detailed info..

Recalling and retelling the fishing trips ten years later is just the reason not to keep a log.  How are the fish going to "grow" in size and number if you have it logged in someplace.   :toast:

just dug out my old fishing log from when i was really smart teenager, heres a page summarized from the 1987 opener day, kinda interetesing:
Day 1: 
Caught: 28 walleye, 2 northern
time:  6:30am-10am
Date: May16th , 1987
Wind speed/dir:  15 mph, SW
air temp: 76
water surface temp avg: 69
sky:  sunny
water chop:  1-3 ft
water clarity:  4ft
Lake: Rush
Location on lake:   S Side
Structure type:  10 ft "bar"
bottom:  sand/weed
bottom depth: 10ft
Lure depth (when fish caught) 10ft
live bait?:  Shiners 1st, leeches 2nd
Lure:  1/8-3/16 oz jig
Color:  Flo green, Flo orange
type of retrieve/troll/drift:  pump bait off of bottom, (hopped off bottom)
Speed :  Slow
line: 6 lb xl
weather pattern:  Pre -frontal, 2-3 days same weather

NOtes category:  Fri the 15th it was windy from the sw @ 15-20, sunny, hazy/clear, thunderstorm fri night, sat am nice/breezy , warm.hazy, fish schooled tightly on bar/reef, new hatched dragon flies everywhere, purple iris flowers in bloom, through back 20 walleyes as well, drifted until large schools found, than anchored and cast jigs to fish.
