ALEXANDRIA ? Christopherson?s Bait & Tackle, Dana Freese, 2 blocks east of Big Ole, (320-763-3255) The panfish are biting good on area lakes, you can still find them shallow as the bluegills are still spawning. The crappies have been found on the weed lines in a bit deeper water. The bass have been doing very well. The best bets for bass are using spinner baits and topwater baits in 1 to 10 feet of water. The walleye fishing has been spotty. Your best bets for walleyes are on Ida or Miltona during the early morning hours or late evening. Leeches & crawlers, in 18 to 30 feet of water have seemed to bring the best results.
