The Chiefs are asking for a 1st and 2nd rounder for 26 year old DE Jared Allen, the Vikings have offered a 1st and a 3rd so far.

I'd really like to see them land this guy in MN, he was the NFL sack leader last season and would fit in nicely with our D, he is still very young too.

I think they should offer the 2 high picks for him and sign him before Tampa does.

What do the rest of you think? Are they asking for too much? I'd rather get a proven guy like Allen than to gamble on another Troy Williamson type of player and have nothing to show for the pick in a couple of years. We have the 17th pick overall anyways.

I don't know that the Bucs will offer much better than 1st and 3rd but I agree, if we have the chance to grab him up they should...we need to fill that DE position with someone proven and Allen has proven himself. I think he had 15 1/2 sacks in 14 games last year if I'm not mistaken.

I think draft picks are way over valued in the NFL.  If we can get him for a 1 and 2 then personally I would say it is worth it.  I would take someone proven over potential any day.

well i think this would be the best move this off season, to trade for allen, who is a great DE i think, plus he wont have to deal with double teams because they are concentrated on the williams boys, but this move would also make a very boring draft day at winter park that im attending this week.

Yeah they gotta grab Allen for sure... the Vikes can nab a good reciever or maybe two off free agency, they really need to bolster their pass rush....

Keep your kids off of the street.  This drunk might run them over.  Last year he was suspended for 4 games, Which he got reduced to 2 games.  He is one stupid move away from being suspended for the year.

I read the Trib today.  The Bucs from the sound of it have little chance of getting him.  Their first round pick is a few picks after ours, plus they have a ton of holes to plug on that entire team.  Giving up 1st & 2nd round picks for one DE won't solve their woas.  I hate to repeat the Hershel Walker fiasco and give away the house.  Championships(s)...DALLAS.

well right now i think the vikings will get him, with there 1st and 3rd they offered him, plus i think they offered him something in the 70 million range. yes i agree he is one drink away from sitting out an entire year, and bryant mcinnie (spelling i dont know) is one night club away from sitting an entire year also. this guy said he quit drinking and im sure there will be something in the contract about it also, same contract we gave koren robinson i think, but more money.

I think when talkin football players, yer always lookin at bein one stupid move away from being suspended for a year. Used to play football... football guys aren't librarians... theres a few guys on the straight and narrow path, and a few reformed ex troublemakers, but they're football players... kinda like tryin to make house pets of all the grizzly bears in the world!    I think Allen will want to try to clean his slate & get a fresh start with a new team... If given a chance.  Yeah, I wonder what McKinney's status is... I think his trial is pending...I hope he straightens up his act, he's a good player....

You gotta love Zygi today.... It's official, we just signed Allen to a record breaking contract. I think we gave our first round pick and our 2 third round pics for him.

It's nice to finally have an owner that will pay for good players.

yep i heard as soon as it went threw,(a buddy works for the vikings) they traded there 1st round pick and both there third round picks. makes to be a boring day at winter park this saturday and i wont be going now, but im excited about what this guy can do for the team as long as he keeps his nose clean

Yikes.  They gave up alot to get him.  Our defense was already good, they should be awesome this year.  Now if we can just get a QB & a couple of receivers who aren't just fast but can also catch a ball, we may have a good team.
