Does anyone here fish this lake?  I know there are walleyes in it, but I never hear anything good about it.  I have fished it once in the winter, but caught nothing but small crappies and bluegills.  The whole lake is pretty much the same depth so I don't really know where to start looking.  Any advice.

I should mention this is the Cedar Lake by New Prague.

Find a weedline. Use slip-bobbers and leechs or shiners, I would suggest shiners as that may help limit what is biting. Leeches will get gobbled up by every sunfish in the lake among whatever else is swimming around.....Or troll right outside the weedline with either cranks, spinners or lindy rigs.

Another thing you can look for is sand/rock bottom and look around that area. Maybe there is a transition from weeds to sand/gravel.
