Where is the summer? With all of this weather moving in and out, I do not think that the planet knows what time of year it is. Which brings me to the fish; I do not think that the fish know what time of year it is either. The water temps start to go up and we get cold weather nights and it brings the water temps rite back down. We had 52 degrees on Saturday and then on Sunday it was back down to 49 degrees and this morning with the overnight lows in the upper 35 degree range, the water temps are back to 47 degrees.

What is a guy going to do with that? We will just have to wait it out and see if and when the water reaches 60 degrees, we may have a great bite ahead of us yet. With the Wave Wacker Tournament just 3 weeks out, the water temps will have a lot to do with the how successful Jordon and I will be this year. It should be just about right for the Humps and a few other spots out in front of the resort, to get our fish.

With that being said, it was a pretty decent weekend at the Rock. The weather was not too bad, other that some hit and miss showers and that pesky wind out of the east and southeast. We should have a prevailing wind at this time of the year out of the west and southwest. Fishing is getting better, as we move into the first of June it will be good to go. There were some nice slot fish caught during the day, but most of the fish that were taken were towards the evening in the Vineland Bay and on Rocky Reef in 12 to 16 ft of water under bobbers with a leech.

If the gas prices do not get any better, it is going to be a tuff summer on all of us. I just got my lock in price for propane this year and it was not very good, 2.49 a gallon from 1.97 last year, Ouchy waw waw.
