The bite has improved since my last visit to the lake. The shallow rocks are good as always. We caught fish in as shallow as 4 feet and we caught fish in 20 feet of water. The most prodcutive spots for us was in about 6 feet of water in the evening. Our boat did not catch one smallmouth but the boat that was with us caught about 5 all 19+ inches. One was just under 21 and it was a monster, big fat bellies and good fighters. Biggest walleye was 22 inches and we actually caught a lot in the slot so that was good. The fish look very healthy and chunky, must be a lot of food down there.

Fish are biting, wish I was up there

Brother just sent this to me an hour ago. Said they are biting good this evening on the rocks. Lake is flat and quiet.

I wish I was going up to the SE part of the lake soon as well. But tomorrow I am headed for Wisc.
Where I'm from calling, flagging and decoying are just basic skills and the kids will do a little guiding just to pay off some bills.
