In years past the rosters were too big and the transaction fees I do not like. If you want more money in the pot then raise the entrance fee. With the large rosters teams hoard players and it looses the fun without the activity of adds and drops. And fanball is horrible.

Thats my 2 cents.

Your loco and I disagree. The key is to get 10 teams minimum and maybe even 12.

the dollar transaction fee is fine, it makes you think about who you draft and makes you more cautious, i know people get injuryed, but chances of 4 or more of your people getting injuryed is very slim. i also play in another league were we have the same transaction fee, because certain guys will make 15 or more transactions in a season, by the end of the season he doesnt have one person he drafted on his team. just putting my 2 cents in on the transaction fee :offtopic:

What is wrong with that??

You think the whole season should be based on the draft? Over in one night?

The way that Pat has it set up is how most leagues are played.  And Fanball is not that bad of a site for what they charge.  I can understand why Tim doesn't want to play, it takes time away from his Fantasy Synchronized Swimming League. :moon:

no i aint saying the whole season is drafted in one night, i usually pick up 2-3 guys. due to lack of performance  and injury

I agree with Tim.  If you penalized roster moves then you hurt people who do there homework and allow someone who knows nothing to be successful.

Also, 10 is the perfect number of FF teams, not 8 not 12.  That is my humble opinion.

My point exactly.

How often do you see teams going to the payoffs just because they got lucky and drew first pick and drafted Tomlinson or Faulk in his hayday.  :bs:

Ok, i'm done.  :happy1:

Good point though, Snowflake showed up for the beer drinking and had me and Ryan draft his team for him. Thats the last time anyone gets help at the draft. lol

I guess I am fine with or without a transaction fee.  I do feel that it makes you think about your moves a little more.  No matter what you do, a lot of this comes down to how lucky you get at the draft.

I've been in FFB for about 12 years now in many different types of leagues...some competitve, some not. From my experience $1/transition is extremely reasonable and will help prevent guys from blindly picking up every joe schmoe with the hopes they hit it big and actually rewards those that do their homework. Sure, some people get lucky and do NOTHING post draft with regards to trading and free agents, but that's FFB for ya'.   :bonk:  :banghead:  :happy1:

Man, football season isn't that far away, is it? Can't believe it's almost August! I love talking FFB already. I'll have to start doing more in depth research and draft prep soon!

Combine a $1 transaction fee with huge rosters and the league gets boring really fast. That is a problem we have had with this league in the past....WAY too many roster spots.

What if there was no transaction fee and only one player on the bench, are there any other complaints about the league?  I think the rules we have are pretty much the standard for most leagues.

what do you mean to big of a roster? in my other league we have 1 qb 1 rb 1rb/wr (you choice) 1wr 1k 1defence 1te then i think theres room on the bench for 4players

Try doing an auction.  Way more fun and you have a chance at every player on the board.
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

I'd love to do an auction sometime...can't get my leagues to convert though.

How many roster spots is this league (starting and bench)?

I might be interested in the league...depends on how many other ones I have. I try to not to go over 3, and I've got 2 others already and am trying to get into another league with a guy from work that's bigger $$ (bigger potential to lose also = bigger potential to win!)

I would love to do a draft. Funny my regular league hasn't switched to that yet. Same guys for a lot of years.
