BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) _ State officials say a 72-year-old Missouri man fishing on Devils Lake was caught with 69 walleyes in his possession, in one of their biggest busts in recent memory.
A husband and wife from Iowa were caught with 19 walleyes over the legal limit.
Devils Lake game warden Chris Knutson says the three were related. He says the 72-year-old man had been fishing for about a month and the husband and wife were there for four days.
Knutson says their trip to Devils Lake was an expensive one, with fines totally nearly ten-thousand-dollars.
He says the 72-year-old man would catch his limit of fish in the morning, then head back out later in the day to catch more. It's known as ``double-tripping.''
The daily limit for walleye in North Dakota is five, and the possession limit is ten.
