Pheasant opener is just 3 months away. I think it is time to step up the workouts. There is nothing more dissapointing than a tired dog on opening weekend especially this year when the birds will be everywhere! Should be a great year and our dogs should be ready to go. It is tough with the heat though.

I'm way ahead of the last 6 years with Macey, right now she is 8 pounds lighter than last year and looking very good. I'll start running her again in August and she'll be all set to go by the middle of October.

Last year i ran her behind my bike 5 days a week for 2 miles, but i didnt start until the end of September, that did make a big difference from prior years though, this year we'll start a few weeks earlier.

Maybe even a few trips to the game farm in September. ;D

That's not fair, you get to ride a bike while she runs! ;D

Once opener rolls around I won't be riding any bikes...that will be me trudging through those damn cattails. Sleep is so good after a day of pheasant hunting. I'm crashed by 9pm at the latest and up bright and early ready to do it again. I should probably stop talking about this as I am getting too excited too early for my own good.

Trust me when I say I felt like I worked harder than the dog the first few times.

I think I need more work than the dog does. ::)
Here's to a long life and a merry one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A pretty girl and an honest one.
A cold pint-- and another one!
