Hello,

I just found this contest tonight surfing around the site. I noticed team #12 only has one person..do they need more? I'd be happy to join, if you let me, and I have a friend who will join also, if it helps to fill-out the team.

Hopefully someone in charge reads this!

My buddy left for Nebraska today for Bow hunting. He's a professional but his experience (and time commitment) is off set by the fact that this will be my 1st year of deer hunting. I'm going up to Parkers Prairie (not $250 yadda yadda) and then to Wisconsin for their opener, so I like my chances. I've hunted all my life, just never deer.

Let me know if I/we can join and I will post the req'd bio. Thanks!

That's great! Thanks everyone! Put me down as VikesFan and Dave as BuckMan25. Fantastic. Now I get to teach him the concept of a web forum.

Hopefully I can pull my weight, and help out CVA54!  ;D

Got you guys on the score board.  Now just get out there and hunt rather than log in here on a sunny Sunday morning like I am.   ;D

you can add me as a sub too... or I can fill out team #14.

and as a bonus... I shot a doe in the early antlerless season... so I come with 100 points... does that make my stock value rise?

OK I'll put Joe down as a sub for team 2 and John, I'll put you into team 14 with your doe.  I sent Muscleup 71 a PM so if we don't hear back from him by the end of the season, we'll just apply Joe's points to team #2.

i just read the rules... well unfortunitly I don't have a picture of the deer.  It was the sunday of the early anterless deer hunt and if you recall it was warm.  I was out on my stand up by forest lake with my muzzle loader.  say the deer at 7:30am, shot it. it dropped right in it's tracks.  I climbed down and walked up to my truck.  put away my gun, stripped down to a t-shirt and pants, went back down and gutted it.  drug it up, threw it in the back of my truck, registered it down the road at the little gas station, drove home (keep in mind, forest lake to hastings... about 50 minutes), hung it from the swing set in the back yard, got the hose out and sprayed the inside with cold water... kept cooling it off as I skinned and quartered it.  had the stainless steel table setup in the garage, cut up and trimmed all 4 quarters and had the meet packaged, showered, and sat down on the sofa in front of the TV just as the vikings were kicking off.  so in 4 1/2 hours, I had the deer from woods to steaks and in the freezer just because it was so warm that day, didn't want to screw around.
So, because of the timeline, I have no pics.  I guess the only proof I have is the steaks in the freezer.
But that's okay, I know there will be other this fall.

I think we should see pictures of the steaks, as well as the model number of the freezer you're keeping them in. Also, a picture of the tires used in said trip to Forest Lake, particularly a close-up of the tire tread, the name of the gas station attendant, the length of your knife blade, the amount of shampoo, if any, that was used, and the number of interceptions thrown by the Vikings that day.

 :rotflmao:

In all seriousness though, don't hate me but I vote for pictures or it kinda defeats the purpose.

yeah, no I agree... I'll get pictures of the next one.  It's just I knew that I would be going out to get a antlerless deer, and I knew it was warm.  Why bother taking a picture of a meat deer?

That was to be one of the fastest woods to freezer times for me personally though...

Pictures?? That would be letting you off too easy.  I say we get to eat steaks that you grill for us while serving us beer.   ;D

Thanks for allowing the sub Don. Just in case we lose our team mate, now we still have a chance at the title.

I heard the same thing many years ago too. Eating Backstraps will give you a fever. Just send them to me and I'll make sure to get rid of them for you.

Well Team Strait Shooters is the first to reach the 300 mark with 3 does.  Lets see if they can add some points with a big buck.

Let me know if I have omitted your deer.  If I have, I assure you, it was an accident.

Good luck to everyone and please be safe out there.

OK I just updated the score board again.  Remember you can only score for one deer then the rest are tie breakers.  You can cull which one you use for score though so it doesn't matter which one you get first.

I'll be out of town with no access to the computer till late Sunday night.  It will probably be Monday before I can get back on and make any more updates.

Good luck to every one, keep an eye out for Leznar's twin and BE SAFE!!!
