Alright, It's been a while since our last giveaway.  So........This time I want to see some pictures.  Every MNO member that post a picture of a deer they shot this year will be qualified in a random drawing for a chance to win a bowhunter care pack.  This pack includes a dozen Tru Crest arrow wraps, a Primos pull-up rope, and a Scent-A-Way bar of Soap.  As in the past Minnesota Archery leaves it up to the MNO members to be honest about your pictures.  So get at it ya bowhunting FREAKS!!!  Let's see some pics!

Let the small bucks walk. Don't assume the neighbors will shoot them if you don't. If you shoot him what chance does that buck have to grow......ZERO!

OK Ok - I'm a little slow.  I live in MN and hunt in WI............but am a member of this site.  So, I shot a buck in WI the third weekend in September - does that apply for this contest?  I assume not but........like I said me slow.

Thanks.

Don

3rd Saturday in September, 1st morning out and was in the stand for a total 20 minutes.  There were four deer already eating acorns and didn't even scare when I climbed into my stand.  A smaller 6 point and this buck came in 10 minutes later and this was the 6th deer that came by.

2 blade Rage entry hole.

I agree with Tim, that's a nice deer.  It's amazing how some times you just can't scare them away and the next time you blink and a deer 200 yds away blasts out of there.  Go figure.

Well I got my first deer by bowhunting!  Pretty good sized doe.  I'm part of the Mankato city hunt and we have to take a doe first.  So, I need to get my bonus tag and wait for a nice buck or doe.

No one else was around to take a pic of me with it.

I tried taking one of myself and well I needed to get it cleaned out.

The doe and I had a stare down for a good ten minutes while she pounded the ground with her hoof trying to spook me.  She was somewhat behind me and I was looking over my shoulder.  Finally she put her head down and looked away, drew my arrow back and had to lift the bow around a branch.  Well the arrow tip touched a branch trying to get my bow in position.  She took off up the ridge that I overlook from my ladder stand.  She slowed down after I grunted with my Mad Growler.  I saw a clearing that I thought was a long shot since I had to shoot through branches of the trees between us.  I quick checked the yardage with my Range finder (mounted to the bow)  65 yards, thought to myself I've never taken a shot that long before even at a target.  I have a 50 yard pin and I have that from partially standing in the parking lot shooting at my ranges 40yd target.  So, I decided it was the last chance I would have that day and I knew I could shoot straight and be steady.  I waited for her to walk into the clearing and I lined up the 50yd pin on the top of her back and let it fly.  Didn't think I hit her but after an hour of waiting I wanted to find my $$ arrow and tip.  I didn't find the arrow and started following the trail she took and found her at the bottom of the ridge that I couldn't see.  Arrow went right through but I still couldn't find it.  Carbon Express Maxima Hunter with Rage 2" broadhead.

Yeah, I'll sweeten the pot.  How about on top of the pull rope, scent elimination soap, and arrow wraps......I'll throw in a Rocky skull cap and a buck bomb.

Does the deer have to be shot with a bow? or can be any means of killing a deer? :whistling:

...I dunno....I re-read Matt's first post, and although he probably meant archery, It was not stated as such, so therefore ANY DEER SHOT THIS YEAR is the criteria....ALL MNO MEMBERS....BOW OR GUN....POST A PIC!!!!   (who knows, maybe we can convert a gunner!)

                              wow...I made an executive decision...
