Im just wondering who's seeing grouse, and how many... I just aint seein as many as I hoped... I took a few long weekends to hunt in north-central MN, and have found some, thanx to Drummer, my partener in crime, but the numbers aint anywhere near what the "experts" have been tryin to sell me... I have seen  :censored:-loads of grouse hunters, all amped up as I am, and hittin it hard, but everyone says the same pretty much... they're around, but not as they expected with all the hype... Im thinking of hittin further up NW, north of red lake to get away from the crowds a bit, plus the #'s usually come back sooner up that way... but yeah, just wonderin how you guys are doin... but hey, its still way too much fun, right?! :happy1:

We went out a bit this past Sunday after hanging deer stands.   :fudd:  Did bring home one of the biggest grouse I have ever shot and 3 woodcock.  No drumming what-so-ever and that was the only grouse anyone has seen all season.  Boom to bust cycle?  Not sure where they get the counts from but I still don't believe we are on the upswing with grouse.
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.

How about seeing this years birds... so far I have just seen 2nd year adult birds, havent seen a single youngin, I usually see small groups of this years birds early in the year when they are dispersing/ goin their own way... its weird, like no poults survived the spring this year... I hope Im wrong.

Grouse hunting continues to improve, but is only keeping pace with last year, falling a little below expectations.
