  • Hunting is my personal health club
I'm 45 and can't get any of my friends to go hunting. I'd like to go every weekend during the season Sept.1 - Jan. 1. My wife is not a hunter, and only 3 members of are family hunt. Out of those 3 ether they have young kids or the timing of my hunting excursions are wrong. I would love to go for a three day hunt in the Superior nat.forest were I've gone befor, but my hunting bubby well is dry. Every Website I go to, leads to some kind of Gay referance & I'm not that desperate "EVER". I mised the Phesants Forever meeting in my area this year. So I  E-Mailed Ron Schara about my delema,  he sugested Phesants Forever. So here I am back to square 1. Any Ideas.........Anyone?

Welcome to MNO Hunt Truck!  Hopefully someone out there could use a hunting partner.  I don't hunt so I am of no direct help to you.   :whistling:  Sorry to hear about your misfortunate accusations (gay references) from other sites, I do not expect you to have that problem here.  As with fishing, it's just more fun to have a friend along to share the experience with.  I know you mentioned hunting Superior Nat'l Forest.  It might help to add where you live.  Good luck hunting and hopefully someone here at MNO will be able join you on a successful hunting adventure!  :fudd: :deer:   :happy1:

Howdy hunt truck,

Just lost a close hunting friend this weekend while out pheasant hunting, he had a massive heart attack.. He died instantly.  I had my 10 year old son with me, My son helped me do cpr, talked to 911 dispatch and stood on top of a hill flagging emergency vehicles, not once did he freak out or cry, even after,  But i did... I'm so amazed at how strong he has become..   Doctor said his heart exploded and would not have been able to save him in the hostipal, if it had happen there.  Anyways, I Like to hunt everything, and go every weekend , have lots of places to go..   I have a 4 year old german shorthair has is awsome, pheasants, ducks, geese, grouse, rabbits, squirrels, raccoon, possom, chucker, quail,    My email is

Very sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.  I look at it as he left this world doing something he enjoyed, and was with good friends when it happened.  It might not make his passing any easier, but when I gotta go, that is how I want to go-happy.

Cowboy, I just read your post and what an ordeal. Sounds like you handled it well though. My condolences for your friend.

Hunt truck, I will be your "partner." I loooove hunting for "the big one."

lol

Seriously though, where you from? There won't be any weekend trips in the near future but I do like just heading out for some pheasant hunting. Usually only on a days notice, at best, which sorta puts me in the same boat as you when it comes to friends and family. But I do enjoy meeting people and, if the logistics work, you're more than welcome to come with me. Either way, good luck!

Count me in. I work when the weather is bad. If it isn't snowing I would sure be up for some good hunting anywere. I have a 9month old GWH and he has been doing excellent. If anyone is looking to do some pheasent hunting drop me an email at fud_5_2@yahoo.com

I live 15 min from the MSP airport but I don't mind driving to get some birds. I just moved up here and I don't have alot of places to hunt around here but I would love to get away from the cities as much as possible... I am not big on the big city.

I'm in the Bemidji area, and if you're around here let me know, I've got some of my own land, know some good public spots, know a couple people who'll let me hunt their land, etc.  Mostly grouse since I work a lot, not many trips south for pheasant sadly.
This is the internet, please remain calm.  I mean you no harm...

shanee,

I have a sister and brother-in-law who live in St. Michael.  In the fall, I always want to bring my German Wirehair down to do some bird hunting when my wife and daughter go shopping.  I gather from your profile picture that you and I may have the same taste in hunting dogs.  I know hunting season is still way out there, but would be more than interested in trying to work out a weekend for next fall.  I'm not a fan of the big city either as  I grew up in a town of 7,000 and enjoy not having to schedule driving around rush hour.

You can't afford not to go fishing.

I am game for any kind of hunting. I have friends that like to hunt. But they never set up time to go. I like to try to get out as much as I can too. I live in Plymouth and if any one want to go some time this fall or spring turkey. Let me know. I am a bow and gun hunter. I have all my own equipment and just looking for more people and new friends to go.
If today was perfect. There would be no need for tomorrow.
