Finally found some time to write about last weekend's short trip to Hackensack.? The wife was at home so I thought it was going to be 36 hours of fishing.? Just to find out my brother wanted to leave Saturday AM, not Friday afternoon, and then he decided that I did not want to go fishing Sunday AM so he went by himself.? Then all the talk about stopping at Mille Lacs on the way home for some bass and maybe walleye action, was just that talk coming out of him.? So it was maybe 8 hours of fishing on Big Deep, which is just that a DEEP lake, but I still took pleasure in whooping his but on HIS FISH (BASS). :Banane09: :Banane09:?

Around the entire lake is about 30 - 50 yards of <10 feet of water.? Then the lake drops to 30 feet, bottoming out at around 120 feet.? Very little structure besides this drop ledge and when we found the shallows to be 83+ degrees we went to the deep edge.? Most our fish came from casting cranks and spinner baits along the deep edge.? One fish came from shallow reeds / weed edge using Northland Tackles Slurpie Worm.? A few other deep edge bass were taken with the Slurpie Worms, trick-sticks, and Senkos?.

We did try for walleyes with spinner rigs with crawlers and leeches for a little bit, but the sunnies would chase down the crawlers, and we caught a few low 20?s pike with the leeches.

First cast crank bait - You can see my brother hooked up also, he tossed on the same spot I did.

This one came from the shallows, as I was working on my tan...  ::)

My sisters boyfriend with his biggest bass.  He's from IL so he don't get fishing much.
