Here in waskish everyone is prepping for the up and coming ice season. I have 4 houses ready and 4 to go. I worked out most of the hiccups in the plow trucks but they still need a little attention. Were looking at 4 to 6 inches of ice at this time and I saw someone well over a mile out today on a 4 wheeler which I would not reccomend at this time.

The reservations book is slowly filling up and before you know it all we will have left is weekdays. The cabin still has plenty of openings and I'm offering a 8 hole house and a cabin for 200 per night. The fishing has started off slow but when theres less then 3 fishermen fishing such a huge lake it takes some time to find the mother load. I hope to get out by the weekend as the water is slowly clearing up and I'am ready for a fresh walleye dinner prepared at Westwind the premier resort here in waskish. They cook your fish and its the only way to go in my book.

My partner the greek arrowed a beautiful buck this year and are friend Ole also bagged a nice buck. Tyler from bearpaw  hunted hard and it paided off for him as he tagged a very nice 9 pointer. You have to put your time in deer hunting up here but there are some nice bucks roaming the swamps. It truely is hunting in this neck of the woods.

I had my chance a small buck with my bow and not sure if I will get out again or not.

Thanks for the report Cookie!  It's great to hear from you again!  A buddy of mine called about getting us a fish house from ya, but you were booked full for that time period.  Another time!   :happy1:

Hi Cookie.

Good to see you back.  Thanks for the ice update!  I was up in Waskish for the first week of the deer season.  Our party got 7 deer out of 11 hunters.

Hey Cookie, good to see your name on the screen again! Thanks for the update. I'm sure things will be picking up very quickly for you guys up there as the temps continue to fall and the ice thickens up.    :cold:

I missed deer hunting up at URL this year with The Jim Moline Gang but will be back up there again for next deer camp and many to follow.

Talked to Buddy Hilmen today and he caught a couple of walleyes yesterday. Mark from westwind also caught a couple so the bite is picking up a bit as the water clears.
