ICE CONDITIONS are probably the biggest question people have around the state.  Minnewaska is in great shape...20 or more inches of ice and no slush to speak of.  Most of the snow was reduced with that warm day we had a couple weeks ago and we have not had any significant snow events since.  There are several roads being maintained on the lake and Fish On has been maintaining the access on the north side of the Lakeside Ballroom and also maintaining a very nice road out to Crappie Town...it is even accessible with 2 wheel drive!  If you venture off the roads, then 4WD is recommended and stay away from a few deeper snow banks here and there.  Overall, conditions are really good.  I have heard reports of tough going on Reno and you should have 4WD if you are going to venture there.  A few people told me that Reno has been getting slushy and the roads have been deteriorating.  Panfish have been staying pretty steady on Minnewaska and Reno.  Probably a better crappie bite on Reno and also a better crappie bite in Bottle Bay on Minnewaska.  Some days you can't keep the sunfish off the hook and other days you have to work for them.  But sizes are really nice with 2 to a pound very common.  The walleye bite on Waska has also been steady...not jumping in the house but enough to keep you interested...usually 3 to 5 a day.  There has been a really good report on "the morning bite" on Minnewaska out from The Beach and Lakeside...sucker minnows have been popular.  We will have ample supply of fatheads, suckers and shiners as well as regular items.  Starting this year, Fish On will also be providing fish house rental...give us a call or email with any questions!

WE HAVE SHRIMP IN!  These little things wiggle like crazy...stop in and try some.
