thought I would mention a few books that I stumbled on at the local library...

one was "one mans wilderness" it's about richard (dick) proeneke there's a video about this guy that's on PBS from time to time.. really neat story he moves to alaska when he is 50 and builds a cabin and tools and lives there alone for 30 some odd years. set in 1950'ish

also a book about a guy named allen hasselborg from franconia mn.. he homesteaded an island called admeralty (sp) at the turn of the century.. he has a river and a stream named after him.. spent most of his time hunting bear..

just thought someone may appreciate this reading

I have seen that on PBS, I meant to get the book but never got around to it. Great story!!!

Watch this clip and I promise you'll be searching for more. I love this kind of stuff. If only........
