We hunt by a little, remote lake north of Cambridge (we call it lake 24, but I don't think it has a real name).  Half the land around the land was my great great grandparent homestead (now owned by my great aunt).  The other half is owned by a family friend.  So, we control access to the little lake.  The water's a little low this year, but the grass and cat-tails are nice and high.

We also spend at least one weekend up by Upper Red ducking hunting way up the Tamarack river.

For Minnesota opener we are going up by Remer. My company has a paninsula on Lower Tripolie with several cabins we can use.

Since my hunting buddy and I work together, and his son in law is the third hunter we can use one of those cabins.

Might not be the best lake up that way but has a nice rice bed on it and a few nice bays tuck into.

Then we will be out in South Dakota on the 18th for 10 days hunting waterfowl and ditch chickens.

most of this summer the river ( our main hunting retreat) has been to low to allow access to the logans we like to hunt on opening day, but yesterday evening i went by the dam and things are looking up...way up, at least from what it has been. it looks navigable by boat and motor once again!
now if it just stays that way through the end of deer season :-[

there is also allways a plan "B" like last season.
the beaver dams in the woodland areas, surrounding the big lakes, which can be excellent.
take a kid hunting and fishing!!

Most of my duck hunting is done down in Missouri.  Three rivers, and some area down around Jasper.
