Lee might even timed his vacation just right and the water will have warmed up some .. As for Cody I think like the General they are all done. Fishing that is.     The Fish the easy ones anyway have moved away from shore now and you actually have to know how to fish for them when they go deeper then knee deep.  :fishing2:  It will be good to watch them battle it out for that 10th place prize though... :whistling:

Well I heard someone on the first place team bought his outboard so he has no way of moving his boat and then of course Lee bought him out with a couple of cases of beer so I think he is just tied to the dock, relaxing..  :fishing:

I caught a 11# sheephead over the weekend. I was wondering if that would count as a bass?

Well if I ever fished for them it would be no problem.  I live about 3 miles from Green Lake by Spicer.  I could go out there any day of the week and catch a 4-6 pound smallmouth.  Just not worth my time.  If any of you know of that lake you would know what I'm talking about.  Besides  my teammates need to have something to do.  Speaking of that one of my teammates dad needs to get the youngster out on the lake........ :whistling:

BB you can get your hip waders on if you choose.  But do a little research on the lake and you will see what I'm saying is true.  Believe me I wish it wasn't.  It messes up my walleye fishing, but they put up a nice fight.   :happy1:  So I hope all of you go out there and catch all those dang things.  If you really want it easy take a bobber and a leech with a west wind and hit Lone tree.  Done deal.

The particular teammate in question has been out fishing, and is currently at Boy Scout Camp for the week.  He has to leave camp early this week though as his Great Grandfather passed away today.  His sister seems to have some good luck going for her this year.  She's the only one on her team to post any fish!  In fact she's the only one in the family who's had fish big enough to post-so far.  :whistling:  :coffee:

Say General I am going to get a conference call going with the other judges and see about upgrading your bass catch to 22" you will not need to post a fish cuz you say anyone can catch them bass near you and you know that should just be good enough...   :happy1: While I have the judges on the phone I am going to ask to be awarded a 32" walleye because I live just a mile from Lake Superior and we all know the big lake gives up big fish so like you I to should not have to post them just brag that they are there for the taking.   :whistling: But I think there might be some objection from the other fishermen in the challenge.  training-087  :fishing2:  I pullin for ya..

Sorry BB but I wouldn't ever want anyone to do that for me.  I would definitely want to have to catch a fish for it to be counted.  I know I could get my 180 pounds of steal and sex appeal over there and catch those bass just like you'd have to get you wrinkled behind over to Superior and catch those walleyes.  :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I remember when Green lake was a good walleye lake. There is some big slimers in there also. I haven't fished that lake for a while. My boat sits on a lift all summer on a little lake by Glenwood.

Well, I didn't expect to stay in first place with only 75 inches of fish.....

It's a long summer, and the fishing only gets better!

There we were "The Wanderers" gunning for a first place victory in the challenge. All we needed was a 30 inch walleye to inch out "Borgies Raiders" for the championship. Just as I was telling Borgie about the big eye I was about to catch my rod tip started to doink doink in 36 fow. It was the fish I was looking for and after a fierce battle she was in the boat and laying on my yardstick at 30.5 inches with the MNO bobber in position for the victory photo. After the quick release Borgie went silent.

Just as I was trash talking to Borgie about her crappy Raiders Team she set the hook and her rod doubled over and a few big head shakes were enough to tell us that it was a whopper walleye. All she could do was hold on and wait for this devil to start to move off the bottom. With 6 lb test and a # 8 hook you cant horse those big girls. She finally got it near the surface and the eyeballs were the size of half dollars. As soon as the net was in view the fish tore the drag out and it started to sing. We chased it down with the electric trolling motor. As I was just ready to scoop her in, Max the cat jumped on my chest waking me up!

I quickly tried to go back to sleep to recapture the dream, but that never works. Looks like I'll just have to wait till the end of October to find out what really happens.

As I was reading Lee's post I started to look around on my desk for the Challenge paper work so I could add his 30.5 inch fish. Lucky it was only a dream.  :rotflmao:  But it does bring up a good point. Three weeks of vacation fishing, husband and wife on different teams.. I wonder if hooks will be dulled during the night or lines cut thirty yards into the spool. If some one will be left on the dock waiting as I am going to guess there will be just one boat for them to share. A lot of good faith will be needed in the "Netnman or Net person" I know these two have been married for just about forever but this is fishing and what better way to keep them talking when it is just them and the fish.. Looking forward to the updates from the vacation!

Boy.....for a smack thread....this has been pretty quiet....

Now that Cody's proficy has not come to pass....he has once again turned silent.   :whistling:

I raised the bar to over 80 inches of fish, surely one of you fine fisher people can top that....  :coffee:

 I was thinking the same thing myself. Of course I have not had to much to say myself. Been working the past two weeks and have not gotten a line wet during that time. Was really expecting that I would have to do some serious fishing to catch up to the leaders but my team is not that far behind. A few lazy afternoons and we will be back on top of the leader board. Hunterdown has managed to find a place to snag walleyes so now he is on top. Lee has gone fishing for three weeks with his wife Borgie but I figure they will cancel each other rout. General has gone quiet and Cody where is Cody.. Jdrummer catching fish or it might be the same one and he is feeding it so it can grow a 1/4 inch at a time...

Just about half of the fishermen in the Challenge have posted fish with 19 teams on the board. Don't know what the other ones are doing, must be working or waiting to go on vacation. 70 fish posted so far.. But not a lot of bragging!

im just sitting back relaxing watching peoples hopes get up. fishing around here has been total garbage as of lately. one of my big acciedental(sp) green grass carp catches will have myself and my team in first place again. and HD is pretty well maxed out so i can relax even more after that.
