Best gun to use waterfowling?

Chris, some how I knew if anybody would come on here and attack it..you the self proclaimed expert would be the one.

 Chris, lets take it slow...most 3.5" auto loaders won't shoot low base ammo for dittly. This gun shoots from 7/8 oz cheap Wal-mart Win. loads to 3.5" full boat heavy shot/Rem HD without a hiccup. I know, I Know Chris, your into name brand, materialistic..whats going to impress everybody gear.

 I like to use what works. The video was just to prove the Mossy has the stuff that the guns costing 3-4 times has. $398.88 at Wal-Mart. It also has a over bore barrel that will out pattern any other 12 ga., top tang safety(right or left hand). come with stock shims to fit the gun to you.

 I'll post the pics later in March of it doing it's job in the goose fields of South Dakota

I use products that work, that have been proven. You posting a 10 second clip of getting your gun off in your backyard impresses nobody. Especially when you say low brass it shoots em all when you pick up a high brass shell.

Every shotgun patterns differently, you know that too. It all depends on rounds, chokes, weather, etc. etc. Find hard statistical proof that a mossberg will outperform other shotguns.

So your saying if I go grab my sbe and my and extrema 2 head out back and blast off a box of shells and video tape it that it proves something?

Its possible you had a faulty thunder stick,frankly I would'nt expect my "magnum" waterfowl gun (inertia driven,not gas ported) to cycle target loads,hell if it did the magnum loads would bust your shoulder,by the way the newer SBE's and the SBE2 cycle 3dr 11/8oz target loads just fine,older models "cheap loads" like 23/4dr 7/8oz or 1oz loads did'nt cycle at all and was stated as such in the owners manuel.

BTW,(  )all auto loaders and pumps have wear problems down the road when shot alot,I'm talking after 1000's of rounds tho,you seldom see serious shooters at the line with auto loaders and few with pumps,most shoot break open shotguns to be competitive and when one does wear out,they can be easily rebuilt like your browning o/u,most likely you'll have just a couple of issue's like the "block" wearing out (barrels will feel loose) and the "top lever spring" will losen up,no big deal and perfectly normal.Unlike beretta o/u's with trigger issues,browning triggers are bullet proof,your cynergy has heavy trigger pull as do other brownings,but this is normal and is a "safty' feature for retail stock o/u's from browning and can be adjusted if you develope a flinch target shooting,trigger pull weight makes a difference when shooting targets because half of the game is "being smooooth",heavy trigger pull can jerk you swing resulting in a "loss".

everyone has there own preference of guns. i absolulty love my stoeger M2000 when many hate them, it all about how they perform for YOU..it was the best 500 bucks ive spent on a gun, could i of spent the extra 900-1000 dollars on a SBE or extrema i could of but i just dont see the point in it.

I must be or you have a crapty camera because the shell you throw over your shoulder looks to have a brass base that extends up to around 3/4 of inch....

In all honesty, this gun has been flawless. the only auto that has come close to matching it's performance was my Xtrema.

It does not kick bad with 3.5 in shells either

each of us has thier favorite gun that we're passionate about.  If the gun fits comfortably, shoots well, and suits the needs you're trying to accomplish, then use it.  More than likely, there won't be a general consensus on what THE best gun is.  It's all in what you're comfortable with.

Well I'll put my 2 cents in too.  I ain't gonna spend 1000 dollars on a gun that has a possibility to get banged around a duck boat, get wet, jam, or miss fire due to a lighter load.  I'll stick with my 300 dollar all around 870 super mag that I can shoot just as fast as a semi auto!!

i have never had a problem getting 5 or 6 shells out of my 870 on snows, and the best part is im still killing them on the 5th shot.

Well my all time favorite gun is my American Arms o/u waterfowl special, it takes 3.5" shells and just hammers the heck out the birds. I have owned many guns and that is my all time favorite, as a matter of fact I owned a SBE original and sold it just last spring, I have had both models of 870's and they were fine, I have the nova's and they are fine, but I will tell you what as far as simple, never let you down, with lots of hitting power the AA o/u is my favorite.

hands down my favorite gun is the one i got when i was 12 a late 70's-early 80's rem. 870 wingmaster with a with a 28" FULL barrel (thats right no switchin chokes for me) that coupled with black clouds are absoluetly DEADLY i don't care what range were shootin at i'll take my buddies SBE 2 and his patternmaster any day

this is my first year with the benelli super blk eagle 2 . I have to say i loved it. i also have a mossberg model 500.  so it was quite an improvement.   the 3.5 inch rounds do pack quite a punch thats for sure!

FYI,A few years back there was a class action law suit against remington,mid 80's and prior years...

These shotguns caused major injuries to folks shooting steel,mainly barrels bulging and also blow-ups on full choke barrels.

So,unless your 870 has a "mod" choke or greater you've been lucky to date.

like snow said... there was a recall/class action on these dealing with barrel bulging.  Be careful.

but I agree... 870 is tough to beat for durability.
