West Rush GTG?

I have heard several of you asking if you could go fishing with me..........
Now, here is your chance!
Would anybody be interested in a West Rush Lake get together?
The jumbo Bluegills are on a bite............
(I can't gar-on-tee, you'll catch fish)

I would plan on it for next Saturday, March 14th 2009, meeting at 10:00 a.m.

If there is interest, I'll post the details!

As of yesterday.....they are still driving trucks.

Pretty slippery, I needed my ice cleats, no snow.

But, a snow storm a com'in.....so, we will see if it gets worse.

How far from the access is the hot spot? The wife put the hammer down on driving on the lake with the kid so we would be walking.

That depends on whether my boys will be with me. I haven't worked out all the details yet. Just heard the weather man say something about 40 deg on Saturday. Should be a good time.

I might throw the Clam 2000 in the truck, but I doubt I'll need it.

Hopefully I will acquire some ramps by this weekend and can bring my wheeler. In that case just bring a sled along and I'd give ya a tow.

I'm pretty sure I can make it. I'll bring the mongo fish house with me. Don't worry about driving on the ice if you don't want. I'll bring the wheeler and you can ride quite a few folks in the 6x10 trailer that is the fish house. Should be nice enough to not put it up, but can still use it for riding out.

Everything i own was in the garage when we had the fire. Insurance company gutted the garage to "clean" it and it hasnt returned. I dont own many but every ice rod I had was in there. Anyone have qny extra they can bring? I'm not going to buy one for the only day on the ice this year.

I have a few rods I take on the ice with me and have a couple of extra flashers I can bring. Got a lot of tackle too. You are more than welcome use it for the day.

I have an extra brand new rod you can have. It's a good rod, lined and everything. Bought it for my bro for Christmas thinking he'd take to ice fishing. He didn't, just used my rigs when we went.

We'll be able to walk to the spot, so we won't have to drive on the ice with the trucks.
I'll prolly have my wheeler out there as well with the trailer.
I got plenty of extra rods if someone needs one.

So what time is this planned for? I can do either day, Saturday is better though. I'll bring the ice cave with me. Like I said, can use it to haul folks and put it up if it's windy. Can someone give me a hand with it though? Takes two guys to get the wheeler off cause you have to flip the canvas and one dude can't do it.

We'll meet at 10:00 in Fransen park, on the North end on West Rush, Saturday
We can run Wheelers back and forth for people that don't wanna walk.
I've been walking out, but, have been told I'm pretty spry for and old guy!

I've never been to the park. Where is the entrance?

Do you know where the public access is?

If you stay on that road going North, till it comes to a "T", you'll take a right....and go maybe a mile going East, and there is the enterance to the park on the south side of the road. Big brown and yellow sign.

I'll see if I can post a map when I get home.

I must of drove that road dozens of times over the years and I don't recall seeing a sign for the park. Of course I wasn't looking for it either. I'm sure I'll find it. Thanks for the info.
