SAD SAD NEWS  23 stores are closing down within the next 30 days. Woodbury,St. Cloud and Coon Rapids are included. That was my favorite place next to Fleet Farm. Now we got to pay Gander or Cabelas high prices. This is a big loss to the community. Use your gift certificates immediately http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/company.cfm

This just sucks!  I liked going there.  Looks like Fleet Farm is all I have left in my area.

Do you suppose there are some bargains to be had there? I think I will go check out Coon Rapids today.

I live in North St Paul and for some reason none of the major sporting goods stores will build around here. Land must be to expensive around the Maplewood Mall.
I never shopped at Sportsman's Warehouse much. Have they announced a closing date?
Fleet Farm is one of my goto stores for fishing equipment. The only problem I have with FF is once an item is sold out they are out until next season. Then I usually have to make a trip out to Gander or over to Joe's.

That sucks. Sportsman's in St. Cloud was/is my #1 by far. I used to work there and never went any place else. Sad

To all those who work there: Good luck.

I agree 100%. They have more than most everyone else and all the staff really know what they are talking about. GM here sucks. Limited product lines and small departments. All thats left really is Scheels, which is pretty good, but still limited, and Fleet Farm, Fishing good, but hunting is lacking.

The sportsman's in CR is/was my go to place. I loved just walking around, chatting with the "pros" and checking the gear out. Gander, Fleet Farm and Cabelas really aren't too far, but there always a bit more on prices, and I have had terrible experiences with the service at gander.

If you have gift cards the message Sportsmans sent to Karl Moore the regional director at Ducks Unlimited was to use them immediately.

Well they took the gift card, but there were not that many good deals yet.

Though there were not many deals as most stuff is only 10% off right now, things were flying off the shelf!

People were packed in there buying everything they wanted.

No discounts on guns or ammo, 10% on most items but the ones I saw at higher % off were dog supplies, videos and magaines, clothing, and ice fishing gear.

Didn't see anything at 30% off but I didn't go through every department either.

Almost all the rifle pistol ammo were gone, most of the handguns were gone, all but two deer stands were gone, and most of the camping gear was picked over.

They were selling decoys like mad as well, tons of GHG's were going with a lot left.

This was at the Coon Rapids store, but my hunting buddy said the Saint Cloud store was the same.

Same here in St. Cloud. I dont undersand some of the reasoning behind saving 10%. In my opinion its not worth it to save $5 and not be able to reurn it if theres some problem when you get home. The clothing was 30% off, but some of the stuff I can still find better deals elsewhere. If the majority waited a couple weeks, like the employees said, they will be 60% off.

I went earlier this week to the Woodbury location to see if they discounted any more yet and they had not.  Still lots of people were milling around and lots of the fishing stuff was well picked over.  There are plenty of hunting clothes left, but only 30% off still.  I heard one employee tell someone that they are looking to be out of there by early May.  Maybe some things I need will get discounted more before they are sold out?  Good luck!!

I was told once that Bass Pro owns/owned Sportsman's Warehouse.  So maybe some of the leftover inventory will go to Bass Pro stores?    That being why prices haven't dropped like we'd hope?.  Just a guess.

I was in the Sioux Falls store last weekend and MAN!  almost all of the fishing aisles were bare (except the big musky plugs and whatnot)  but they are not discounting any ammo, guns, or supplies to make ammo.  I might swing out there again today to see if they've changed their mind yet.

In st cloud I got the discount on reloading stuff but everything I wanted was gone. Well not everything but components are gone. Picked up a few dies and some bushings. Did find some 22 cal bullets which I needed but these were much smaller than anything you'd put in a 223, just got em for my hornet.

That is what I liked about sportmans is they had the best reloading department

They are not owned by Bass Pro. I used to work there and they have had the same owners since the beginning with no afiliation with Bass Pro that I ever knew of. I could be wrong but I would bet otherwise!

Sportsmans warehouse started out in the Rocky's, where as Bass Pro started out down South.

I was in the Coon Rapids store Friday, they still have not discounted much and I would like to warn everyone to watch thier reciepts or varify an item is on dicount.

I bought a fish trough, and two reel covers and didn't get any discount.
Went back in right away before I left the parking lot and asked for my 10% off.
They told me all sales were finial and that since I left the store it was a done deal!!!

I only spent $27 so I might have gained a few bucks at best, so I just left and will make sure I watch the lady check me out next time.

Sorry to hear that Benny. $2.70 isn't the end of the world, but the principal alone is pretty bad. The best deal I've seen in the CR store is 30% off waders. Their stock is dwindling away so I might have to pick a pair up before they're gone.

I could understand them saying that if you were trying to return it. Have they posted a closing date yet? The last day will be the day to be there.

I also heard one of the ladies who works at the sportsman's here say something about Bass Pro, so I don't know if they have some sort of agreement going or what.

Yep for just a couple bucks I just left the store and didn't get upset over it.

I did hear that 15 stores were sold to a Canadian conclomerate, maybe they have ownership of bass pro??

The gun counter guy, Neal< said that mid to late may is the schedualed close dates.
But he thinks they will be done in late April.
