Looking for a tannery for a deer cape and bear rug. It's been awhile since I did it part time and don't have the contacts anymore.
Any suggestions?

There's a ton of them around, I've been using Buffalo county fur dressing and he does a good job. Fairly inexpensive and reasonable turn around times. don't have the number in front of me but I can have it by tomorrow.

Hey Trout.
I've used them also for regular fur tanning but they don't list doing taxidermy tanning. Specificly I don't see deer capes listed anymore.
I've worked with Wayne on several occasions, good guy, good company.

USA Foxx and Fur is garment quality only. I have a list of several if you like. Depends on the quality and the amount of work you want to do when you get them back. My deer capes cost $125 to get tanned, but when I pull them out all I do is rinse and mount. I send them green and they come back with all final fleshing, cartilage pulled, and repairs made. If you want to do that part yourself and are not as busy there are plenty of good ones out there.
Lee where is Buffalo County Fur dressing? That is one I have never used.

Thanks Auggie I'd appreciate that. I've been talking with Tim up in Pequot Lakes or thinking of Yost Fur dressing in Sturgeon Bay, WI.
The hides are already split, ears turned, salted ready to go.

Wayne,
Here is a suggestion for you. Bring your hides to the MN Taxidermy Guild Show this weekend in Rochester. Tim should be there and you could speak with him in person. The Wildlife Gallery will also be there and you could speak with them and see their product. They are one of the most trusted tanneries in the business. You could save on shipping with either The Gallery or Tim and get in on some great seminars and supply discounts not mention becoming a member of the only group working for you as a taxidermist in MN. If you have any questions about the show contact me. If you want a few more tanneries I can also get those for you.
PS My bears go to Big Bear in Montana. They do some of the best rugging I have seen at a decent price. I PM'd the numbers to you.
