Did it hit the motor, or was it from the speed of the boat in the water?

No we only moved a short way, it hit the motor. The fish had only been on the stinger for maybe 10 min. My son pulled it up to see about letting him go.He was felling bad about keeping him so i told him the good news was now he could  let it go.

First year with my own boat
what can i say I'm still learning

My brother-in-law did that once with about five walleyes on the stringer.

About 5 years ago we did it in Canada by accident. There was about 5 or 6 walleyes on that stringer.

We lost the whole thing...I think I was more dissapointed about the stringer!

I've taken off in the boat then thought there was something wrong with the motor because it was bogging down and wouldn't go very fast, so I trimmed up the motor, checked for weeds, pulled off the cover.........then five minutes later, I realized the anchor was still down. ::)
