Not a single post since the middle of February in the Leech Lake forum??

I'll try to spruce it up a bit.

Fishing for are party started out slow this weekend but ended in a bang!!  We did much searching Friday afternoon and Saturday morning only finding smaller fish.  Saturday afternoon we finally setteled on a small hump in 17 fow of water on a very gradual break. This small hump was mainly mud. We found very active fish here and some large ones (13").    Although we drilled maybe 75 holes in this area a handfull where the most productive and it payed just to wait the fish out in these holes. Now when the school was under you it was nothing for everyone to pull 3 or four fish out of the hole one right after another.  Then wait and 10-15 min. later BOOM schools under you again.  Rattling flyer's, buckshot's with dropper's, and tear drop jigs with small spinner's on them all tipped with a full minnow where are best presentation's.

Couple pics of some nicer fish.

Thanks for the report. Hows the ice up there? I have never fished leech lake and was thinking of heading up this weekend. How has the pan fish bite been?  Are people walking out or using 4 wheelers ? Thanks for any info.

There was 2 feet of ice and trucks all over.  Although some of the landings are starting to deteriorate.  We took 4-wheeler's.  I only fished for perch so could not tell you how the bite was on other species, but the perch bite was dynamite.
