Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for fishing walleyes on Waconia.
Depths? Bait? Methods Areas?
I promise if I catch any thing exceptional I might not enter it in the Challenge.

Is there a school on that lake? I feel like I heard of people fishing for walleyes out in front of school on that lake.....

I do know of people fishing Andersons Reef. I've never fished the lake but best i've heard was very very early morning before the sun rises to about a half hour after and the same with dark.

A lucky angler bagged this magnificent freshwater drum. In fact he bagged two of them (didn't the Allman Brothers have two drummers). Unfortunately he was not able to get a measurement on this spectacular freshwater specimen.

We did get one walleye 12.5" good enough for second place. Tough night for walleyes - cold.
Slip bobber and leech about 17'.

Exactly! My fishing partner started calling me "little drummer boy".

By the way we caught the walleye at about 9:15 and had to be back at the dock by 9:30.

We used crawlers and leeches. We went over reefs where the depth came up to 3'. Deepest we fished was probably 25'. We did pull some crankbaits too.

Them sheepheads are sure fun to catch :)  Ive had my best luck fishing Kegs, reds and the southwest side of the island off the sand bar.  Depth varries depending on the boat traffic (more boats fish deeper, Quite day fish shallower)  I mostly use a 1/4 oz jig with fat head, bounce it off the bottom.  You left right at the best bite.  Should've been out til at least 10 or 10:30.

I figured it was about prime time when we went in. Thought about going back out but...
