I am pumped big time! I have a trip set up for the Badlands of ND chasing Antelope and Mulies in Mid-Sept. Thank goodness for the summer 3D shoots and getting stands set up because they are the only things keeping me sane!

I just spent the day at the deer woods.  Sprayed about two acres that I plan to seed in clover.
Not too many bugs yet.  NO deer flies.

Im looking forward to it but like Cody, I can't count the days.  I practiced a few weeks ago and all shots were kill shots but not as accurate as I like.  I'm out of town at this point and didn't bring my bow so it will be a while before I can get it and start really practicing again.

Oh I lost access to one superb hunting spot but might be given permission to hunt some private land of a friend. Fingers are crossed on that one ! ! !
If ya don't know where ya are, go back to da beginnin.

This will be the best season yet, everything else is on hold and its time to start hunting w/the video camera to get hit list going. This year will all be captured on film. Plus I’m going to get a new bow and that’s always a good thing  :happy1:
Are you a hunter or do you just kill things? Respect the wildlife!

I'm pretty jacked up for this season. Been fine tuning my new weapon by gettin to know her a couple times a week on the range (my bow in case some one feels the need to comment ;D)

Last year was a punt year for me as I was basically only out there to harvest meat filled flatheads due to our first child. This year will be different as I already have exceeded my scouting compared to last year, and I should be ready come late sept. early oct.

Hello,

New to the site and I too am looking forward to the 2009 season to get started! Been reading here for a while and seems like a great bunch. I have always stayed away from forums but as of late I have registered on 4 other sites in the last week or so. Actually starting to get into it!

couldnt stand it any longer so i took the bow out to see if i needed to do anything to it. but i dont. it shot perfectly from 20-40 yards. so i just worked on my 40 yard shots so i can become more comfortable with them.

Thank You for the welcome!

To answer your question: I hunt a few different areas. Primarily I will be hunting outside of the metro area to the north, north/east and east. I can hardly wait.

I am glad to see this up already. Just today i was moving some hunting gear and thinking now I gotta scent kill everything I touched. I saw a buck last week with big bulbous fists growing out of his head and it got me thinkin deer season. And spotting a little somewhat uncoordinated fawn put a huge smile on my face. I do not believe that anyone but one that harvests deer can delight in the sight of a new fawn more. It is not the anticipation of something to kill in the future as it is the delight of witnessing the animals are perpetuating and thriving because of all that sportsman do to protect them including license fees.

well i just broke out the bow over the weekend and am preparing spots for some brassicas. im always torn at this time of the year, so much there is to do and wanting to prepare for hunting. i have to decide wether to fish or scout or go camping or set up a food plot. i wish there was just so much more summer here but we get what we get and get out what we put in so ill have to put things aside and start working on the skills and the backwoods here soon. i cant wait till sept!!!

I'm there with ya, I saw only scrubbers throughout the year and had zero opportunity to shoot anything besides a couple does.

Can't wait for the chance to sit in a tree stand!
