Crappies??
This past summer things had been looking good for crappie fishing.  This past weekend, all of the usual crappie haunts had been vacated.  Anyone do a lot of crappie fishing?  Is this kind of a transition time for crappies?

i think the water temps have come down in the lakes over the last week and yes I think the crappies are beginning to move out of the usual summer haunts.  Start looking for them on the breaks close to the bottom.  That's what I've been hearing.

I agree.  My best crappie fishing of the year is coming up mid September - mid October in bowl shaped, mud bottom lakes that get no deeper than 18 ft.
