ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says duck hunters will again have a 60-day season and a daily bag limit of six ducks this year.

The duck season opens Oct. 3 and runs through Dec. 1.

The number of breeding ducks dropped in Minnesota this year, but continental populations of many species of ducks are again near record highs.

Bag limits for most species are unchanged from last season. But hunters will be able to take one canvasback after not being allowed to take any last year, and the scaup limit will be two for the entire 60-day season.

Minnesota's regular goose season also will open Oct. 3. The early Canada goose season opens statewide Sept. 5.
