I don't know where to put this so please feel free to move it if you want...

Looks like Andy and I were a few days late on the September Full Moon bite. We started fishing around 2:00 pm and had to be gone by 8:00 pm so we never really got a pattern set. We figured wind out of the East, fish bite least...

We started around Kings hump and picked a 16" eater on the first drift on the upwind side of the rocks (18 feet of water) with a panfish size leech. Figured this was a good sign. Three more passes and no more fish, so we went to trolling for a little bit with no results.

We decided to make the wavy / wet run over to Hennepin Island and on the first pass over there I picked up another 16 1/2" eater, again on a leech in 18 feet of water. Tried for a couple more hours with no more results and only saw 3 more fish caught by another boat that seemed to be drifting slowly with slipbobbers. Those three fish came in 10 minutes and they were in 8 - 10 feet of water. We did not see them catch anything else.

We had decided to head back over to Kings for the night bite, but we stoppped outside Izaty's and pulled one more eater in the first couple minutes with one other fish lost on the way to the boat. This one came on a leech with a jig head and bobber set up.

Andy finally got into the action with a 6" walleye and a nice 12" Jumbo Perch when we decided to move into 8' of water. Nothing else after that. Oh well a few fish for the dinner table and a great day on the water.

Anyone else get out for the September Full Moon?

Sounds like a decent time anyways.  At least you got to get out. Its always nice to have a little fresh walleye for dinner.

PS - Thanks Mayfly for trying to look for a updated report for me.  If anyone is getting out soon, shoot me a PM I have the GPS coordinates for you to try.  The fish weren't on the spots I mentioned just near them.

I wish I had known you were going to go as far as Hennepin. I have a couple magic spots right there.

Yea ME TOO...  I could have use my rain gear with that nice chop we had.  Just a friendly reminder for myself, to get the dual console when I buy a boat.  ;D
